Pendleton Hall Dorm Rehabilitation Concept

Virginia Episcopal School
Lynchburg, Virginia

The rehabilitation of Pendleton Hall preserves VES’s most historic dormitory while expanding the bed count to 44 beds and upgrading its function for today’s students. The project will follow the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Rehabilitation and utilize Virginia State Tax Credits to help offset the costs of the project.  It will enhance the building’s original character, improve accessibility, and modernize the dorm rooms, restrooms, faculty apartments and support spaces across all four levels.

The first floor incorporates student life spaces, including a new lounge, while the upper floors maintain residential use with improved finishes and shared amenities. With renewed infrastructure and thoughtful preservation, Pendleton Hall continues to serve as a cornerstone of residential life on campus.
