Villaggio Ristorante Renovation

Located in the historic Magnolia Inn in downtown Pinehurst, NC, Villaggio is a locally cherished fine dining restaurant recently acquired by Pinehurst Resort. Glavé & Holmes Architecture was commissioned to renovate the interiors in a way that honored the building’s 1896 charm while improving functionality, accessibility, and guest experience.

The project was completed in two phases, with initial upgrades timed around the U.S. Open. Renovations included reconfiguring the floor plan for new ADA-compliant restrooms, restoring and preserving original wood floors, and replacing the existing bar with a newly designed focal point that improves circulation and capacity.

Design inspiration blended Italian textile and fashion influences with Pinehurst’s golf heritage—introducing rich textures, warm tones, and layered materials to balance luxury with a sense of home. Custom millwork, acoustical improvements, curated artwork, and enhanced lighting created a refreshed interior that reflects the welcoming hospitality of both Pinehurst and Villaggio’s Italian roots.
